Greek Academic Standings & Scholarship Information

The Office Of Fratenrity & Sorority Programs and the Tulane Greek Community take academics and scholarship very seriously. All Greek organizations maintain academic requirements for membership and promote scholarship through programs and awards within their chapters. The OFSP promotes academic acheivement through scholarship promotions in the campus newspaper, The Hullabaloo, through providing free Blue Books to all members during midterms and finals, and by offering all fratenrities and sororities and advice and resources so that each group can ensure scholastic success. And our hard work has paid off, the Greek Community average GPA is higher than the average Tulane student GPA and has been for 21 out of the last 22 semesters!

Below you may find the average GPA for every Greek organization on campus as well as the average student GPA for men and women at Tulane.

Order of Omega

Greek Honors Society

On Wednesday April 18, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. the Tulane University Iota Kappa Chapter of the Order of Omega initiated its most recent new members. 39 new members were selected during the spring of 2007. In addition to student members, members of the university faculty and staff may be initiated as honorary members, recognized for their service to the Greek community.

The Purpose of the Order of Omega is: To recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment; To bring together outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institute on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs; To bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution’s fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding, and cooperation; To help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions.
